Add a school logo and watermark to a printable form
Prepare a clear logo, choose light watermark settings and check the difference between school branding and student answer space.
A school logo identifies the form; a watermark adds background branding. They have different jobs and should not compete with the student's handwriting. Start with a clear header logo, then decide whether a watermark adds useful information to the printed copy.
The controls described here are available in each FormPDFKit form designer. You can use the admission form maker for school forms or the registration form maker for an event. The logo and watermark you choose are processed in the current browser tab.
Prepare a square logo when possible
The recommended starting image is a 600 × 600 pixel square logo. A transparent PNG avoids an unwanted rectangular background, particularly when the design uses a colored header. At least 300 × 300 pixels is recommended for a small printed logo; the result still depends on how clear the original artwork is.
Increasing a small blurry image to 600 pixels does not restore missing detail. Look for a clean original file from the school instead of enlarging a screenshot from a social profile. Use the school's authorized logo and check that a seal or crest remains legible at the size used in the header.
Understand the upload limits
The designer accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP images up to 5 MB. Choose a suitable local file through School logo. The interface shows the uploaded dimensions and keeps the image's original proportions. A wide rectangular logo is not stretched into a square, but it may appear shorter than a square crest within the available header area.
A colored rectangle in a JPEG is part of the image, so it will remain visible after upload. The tool does not remove backgrounds automatically. Prepare a transparent PNG beforehand if the school needs a clean cutout logo.
Keep header address lines separate from answers
School address lines reserve room for the school's printed contact information at the top. Select one, two or three lines and use Enter where a line break makes sense. This setting does not create extra answer lines in the student's address field.
For a student address, open Fields and use its two-line or three-line writing-space option. Keeping these two controls separate helps prevent a polished header from hiding the fact that applicants have too little room to write their own address.
Choose text or image watermark
A text watermark can identify the copy with a short phrase such as the school's name or “School copy.” An image watermark uses a separate image, which may be the same logo or another authorized mark. Choose None if the background becomes distracting or if the office expects to photocopy the form repeatedly.
The initial opacity is 10%, and the available range is 5% to 25%. Higher values are darker. Begin with 10%, inspect the preview and print a sample. If thin handwriting becomes difficult to distinguish, reduce the opacity rather than making every form label heavier.
Review color and photocopies
Switch between a colorful design and Ink saver to see which better suits the office's printing process. Pay particular attention to fine details in a crest, pale borders and shaded answer panels. A design can remain attractive while using a simpler header and a very light watermark.
Do not treat a watermark as a security mechanism. A visible logo or background word does not authenticate an admission decision, prevent copying or make a form an official document. Only the school can define the approval and issue process for its paperwork.
Save and test the result
Review every page in the live preview, then download the selected A4 or Legal PDF. The PDF includes the logo and watermark that are visible in the preview. Check a real print before distributing multiple copies, following the paper-size and print guide.
Your images are not saved as a school account or sent as an application. Keep the original logo file and the final PDF in the school's own storage. If you refresh or close the designer before saving the PDF, the current tab's changes are discarded.
